Our 3D X-ray (CBCT) shows the anatomical conditions of the jaws and the temporomandibular joint region in three dimensions in unclear cases. The performance spectrum of this device is comparable to that of a conventional computer tomograph, with the difference that the radiation dose is reduced many times over.

The examination usually takes no longer than five minutes. Sensitive neighboring structures, such as the maxillary sinus or nerve tracts, can be precisely depicted in terms of their course and position. As a freelancer, Mrs. Barbara Schwedler treats our temporomandibular joint patients with deep-acting, gentle physiotherapy that is specifically tailored to their individual needs. Here, so-called matrix rhythm therapy is used: through physiological vibration transmission to the musculature, instantaneous loosening of the tense muscle areas is achieved. The release of tension in the ligamentous structure of the temporomandibular joint and the musculature of the supporting apparatus is also aimed at the immediate relief of complaints. The PRF-method (“platelet rich fibrin”) promotes and accelerates the regeneration and healing of tissue with the help of the body’s own substances. The growth factors support the gentle healing of the wound, without the use of foreign materials.

Since only a little amount of the patient’s blood is drawn for this purpose, there is no need for concerns regarding the use of the PRF-method. The drawn blood will be centrifuged for a few minutes, which separates the single blood components. Afterwards, stimulating proteins are extracted, and a so-called “clot” rich in growth factors is formed.

This clot can be of multiple use, e.g. is placed in the wound and regeneration and healing with the help of the body’s own substances begins. PRF can be used in a wide variety of procedures, especially in treatments of the jawbone. For example, in implantology, bone augmentation, tooth extractions, in periodontal surgery or in patients with the tendency of reduced wound healing due to certain medications, diabetes or smoking habit.
